As Executive Director of the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation, Ms. Thompson works closely with the Board of Directors to set the Foundation’s strategic priorities and identify those organizations that align with these priorities and demonstrate strong leadership, a compelling track record and future potential.

Ms. Thompson brings to her position more than 25 years' experience in management and consulting in both the for profit and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining the foundation in 2001, she served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for Lutheran Social Services of Northern California, which provided a wide range of human services in the Bay Area. She also worked at Deloitte Consulting and First Manhattan Consulting Group, advising clients in finance, risk-adjusted pricing and business process redesign. She currently serves on the board of The Philanthropy Roundtable and from 2004-2007 served on the board of the Foundation Financial Officers Group.

Ms. Thompson holds an M.B.A. from Stanford Business School and a B.A. in Slavic Studies from Harvard University.
